Have we lost the ability to hear what our bodies are telling us about the state of our lives? How can we connect with others if we aren't connecting with our own body?
I just listened to episode 11, as usual your conversations are extremely thought provoking. I am a fortunate person, and I do not take for granted for one second, that tuning in and taking time for myself is a must and I can do it. I am very grateful!
I have a very good friend, actually my best friend of 63 years, I told her if she dies before me I am putting on her tombstone “I didn’t have enough time”.
I know not everybody can do it but I feel like we have to take the responsibility of taking care of our self seriously. And I admit when I was a full-time mom and working there was so little me time. But at some point in our lives we have to take care of ourselves and make ourselves a priority.
When I was working I used to make appointments with myself, on the calendar. It would have to be really important for me to deviate.
I did the exercise with you two. Let’s just say I knew I needed to stretch and when I took that minute, I confirmed it. Off to stretch!
Thanks Deb for the idea around booking time for yourself, that’s a great way to make sure it happens. I appreciate your continued support and when you take the time to comment.
Hi Deb, thank you for your comment. I really love the idea of booking an appointment with yourself -- that's a great way to validate your need for "me" time! I remember many years ago hearing a story about a little girl who, when she heard that people paid her father money so that he'd see them (he was a lawyer or consultant or some such), she gave him the money in her piggy bank so that she could buy some of his time and attention. It makes me wonder who else needs to be penned in for an appointment in our calendar?
